That’s not even a Fire-type Pokémon!
I actually had a discussion about this a while back. He uses Pokemon that are supposed to relate to heat, or hot in some way. Drifblim is based on a hot air balloon, Steelix’s Pokedex entry in Diamond says it was “tempered underground under high pressure and heat”, and Lopunny is supposed to be hot as in appearance wise.
And Diamond and Pearl had like… two fire Pokemon to use. I love Ponyta but there is a point where I just don’t want to use that bastard anymore.
